Q. How on earth do we find you?

A. From Cape Town – N1 Freeway towards Paarl:Take the R44 Klapmuts/Stellenbosch/Wellington turnoff and turn left.  Just before Wellington turn left again and continue on the R44 towards Porterville/Ceres (the golf course should be on your Right Hand Side and the distillery on your left hand side).  Once through the Nuwekloof Pass, ignore the signs to Tulbagh and continue onto the T-Junction where you turn right towards Ceres/Wolseley on the R46.  After +-1km turn left where you see the Wild Olive Farm/Buck's Ridge sign in the Gum trees. Continue along the farm road for +- 2.5 km  and follow the signs to reception which is past the first house you come to on the RHS.

From Ceres/Worcester/Bainskloof Pass: Travel through Wolseley en route to Tulbagh on the R46.  About 9km from Wolseley (23km from Ceres), turn right at our farm sign.

Q. What do I need to bring along?

A. You only need to bring your food, drink and swimming towels. All Linen, cutlery, crockery, bath towels are provided. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and washing up liquid is also provided. Guests are also encouraged to bring along their mountain bikes and fishing tackle.

Q. How far is the farm situated to the nearest town?

A. Tulbagh is situated +- 6.5Km from the farm while Ceres is situated about 25 Km away (about a 20 minute drive). Cape Town's V&A Waterfront is situated approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from Tulbagh.

Q. Can you swim in the dams?

A. Absolutely! Guests are welcome to swim in all our dams and to make use of the canoes and rowing boats at no extra charge.

Q. How far are the dams located from the accommodation?

A. Although our three electric cottages, Guineafowl, Kingfisher and Fish Eagle cottages are overlooking our big dam, the three smaller gas cottages and our campsite are located about 15 minutes walk or a few minutes drive from the closest dam and top cottages.

Q. Is there shade available in the campsite?

A. Yes, we do have shade available in the campsite although it is LIMITED and not available to the entire campsite. Hence we operate on a first come first serve basis and no absolute guarantees can be made that shade will be definitely be available.

Q. What activities are offer on the farm?

A. Although we are not a resort, we do offer fishing and swimming on our dams, walking, bird watching, cycling (bring your own bikes) and the star gazing at night is unbelievable! We also have a few sheep, cattle, two miniature ponies and several hens to keep the young kids amused.

Q. What fish do you have in your dams?

A. Our "bottom" dam is stocked with carp and Tilapia as well as  a small (but growing) population of Bass. Our "top" dam is stocked annually with trout.

Q. Do I need a 4x4 to get the farm?

A. No. Although the farm is situated about 2.5 km from the main road, the dirt road, albeit bumpy in places,  is accessible by any "normal" saloon car. We even had a recent visitor to our campsite arrive in his Ferrari! (see the picture on our "Accommodation" link)

Q. Do you allow pets on the farm?

A. Due to a few unfortunate incidents involving pets belonging to guests and our free range chickens and sheep, we do not allow pets on the farm.

Q. Do you accept Credit Cards?

A. Unfortunately we do not accept VISA and MasterCard credit cards due to the exorbitant charges levied by South African banks for this service.
