Q. How on earth do we find you? A. From Cape Town – N1 Freeway towards
Paarl:Take the R44 Klapmuts/Stellenbosch/Wellington
turnoff and turn left. Just before
Wellington turn left again and continue on the R44 towards Porterville/Ceres
(the golf course should be on your Right Hand Side).
Once through the Nuwekloof Pass, ignore the signs to Tulbagh and continue onto
the T-Junction where you turn right towards Ceres/Wolseley on the R46.
After +-1km turn left at the Wild Olive Farm/Buck's Ridge sign in the Gum trees.
Continue along the farm road for +- 2.5 km and follow the signs to
reception. From Ceres/Worcester/Bainskloof Pass: Travel through Wolseley en route to Tulbagh on the R46. About 9km from Wolseley (23km from Ceres), turn right at our farm sign. Click here to view a map on how to find us.. Q. What do I need to bring along? A. You only need to bring your food, drink and swimming towels. All Linen, cutlery, crockery, bath towels are provided. We even provide you with a few complimentary bales of firewood on arrival as well as a bottle of farm fresh milk and free range eggs. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and washing up liquid is also provided. Guests are also encouraged to bring along their mountain bikes and fishing tackle. Q. How far is the farm situated to the nearest town? A. Tulbagh is situated +- 6Km from the farm while Ceres is situated about 25 Km away (about a 20 minute drive). Cape Town's V&A Waterfront is situated approximately an hour and fifteen minutes from Tulbagh. Q. Can you swim in the dams? A. Absolutely! Guests are welcome to swim in all our dams and to make use of the canoes and rowing boats at no extra charge. Q. How far are the dams located from the accommodation? A. Although our three electric cottages, Guineafowl, Kingfisher and Fish Eagle cottages are overlooking our big dam, the three smaller gas cottages and our campsite are located about 15 minutes walk or a few minutes drive from the closest dam and top cottages. Q. Is there shade available in the campsite? A. Yes, we do have shade available in the campsite although it is LIMITED and not available to the entire campsite. Hence we operate on a first come first serve basis and no absolute guarantees can be made that shade will be definitely be available. Q. What activities are offer on the farm? A. Although we are not a resort, we do offer fishing and swimming on our dams, walking, bird watching, cycling (bring your own bikes) and the star gazing at night is unbelievable! We also have a few sheep, miniature ponies and several hens to keep the young kids amused. On request, kids are also welcome to help with the daily egg collecting ritual. We also now offer tours of our new winery and olive oil press facility. Please note that these tours are by appointment only as there is not always someone available on the farm to conduct the tours at short notice. Q. What fish do you have in your dams? A. Our "bottom" dam is stocked with carp and Tilapia as well as a small (but growing) population of Bass. Our "top" dam is stocked annually with trout. Q. Do I need a 4x4 to get the farm? A. No. Although the farm is situated about 2.5 km from the main road, the dirt road, albeit bumpy in places, is accessible by any "normal" saloon car. We even had a recent visitor to our campsite arrive in his Ferrari! (see the picture on our "Accommodation" link) Q. Do you allow pets on the farm? A. Due to a few unfortunate incidents involving pets belonging to guests and our free range chickens and sheep, we do not allow pets on the farm. Q. Do you accept Credit Cards? A. Yes, we
