Wild Olive Farm - Accommodation

Accommodation on Wild Olive Farm is comprised of six fully furnished self catering cottages and a grassed campsite overlooking our new vineyard with mountain views all around. Three of the cottages were commissioned in June 2003 and the other three cottages were original labourers cottages that were converted to guest cottages about 10 years ago. All our cottages are priced per unit and not per person.

Our three Cape Dutch style cottages have all been specifically designed to provide our guests with maximum comfort during their stay. Situated adjacent to neighbouring vineyards, all offer spectacular views of the surrounding Witzenburg mountains and overlook our large dam. All three are fully equipped, tastefully furnished and have their own private braai areas, “riet dak” and timber ceilings, fitted panel heaters, bathrooms with separate showers and jetmaster log fireplaces.

Guinea Fowl Cottage -sleeps 6 @R795/night (or R650/night for four person occupancy)

Guinea Fowl cottage is the largest of our new cottages and boasts three bedrooms configured as one double bedroom and two twins. The master bedroom as an en-suite shower and wc while the family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower and wc. There is an open plan living area with jetmaster fireplace as well as the dining and kitchen area with French doors leading onto a large pergola covered terrace, offering beautiful views over our large dam and the surrounding Witzenberg mountain range.

Kingfisher and Fish Eagle Cottages -both sleep 4 @R595/night (or R425/night for two person occupancy)

These two cottages are configured identically having one double bedroom and one twin. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower and wc. There is an open plan living area with jetmaster fireplace as well as the dining and kitchen area with French doors leading onto a large pergola covered terrace, both offering spectacular views of the surrounding valley with Kingfisher Cottage being situated closest to the mountains.

Our original three cottages detailed below do not have electricity although gas stoves, fridges, geysers, gas lamps and cosy fireplaces keep our guests very comfortable.

This open plan semi-detached unit has a kitchenette and indoor Jetmaster log fireplace as well as a shower and wc. This cottage has a double bed and outside there is a tiled stoep and private braai area with lovely views. NOTE: To ensure privacy we never rent out both cottages together unless guests are part of the same group.

Blue Crane Cottage - Gas powered, sleeps 4 @ R450/night (or R350/night for two person occupancy)

This cottage has a double bed in the main bedroom and bunk beds in an alcove off the living area. NOTE:The bunk beds are unfortunately not suitable for large adults. There is a bathroom with shower and wc as well as a Jetmaster log fireplace in the openplan lounge/dining area. Outside there is a tiled stoep and private braai area with fantastic views.

Our campsite is a beautiful informal grassed area with braai area overlooking our new vineyards and the surrounding mountains. Clean ablution facilities (3 separate bathrooms, 2 with showers and w/c, 1 with bath and w/c).Apart from twelve 15 amp power points, there is also a double door fridge/freezer and portable braais on wheels, all of which are available at no extra cost. The campsite is situated about a 6 minute walk from the closest dam or a short drive away by car.
